Additional Information:
• This role is temporary full time (3-year fixed term contract).
• This role is open to remote work from any IKEA AU location.
• This role requires domestic work travel where required based on business needs.

About this work area

In this role you will lead and manage all construction aspects of assigned building or reconstruction projects to secure delivery of a safe, compliant, sustainable and innovative property solution based on business needs, on time and to budget.

As Construction Project Manager your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Implement all Construction Project delivery strategies, methods and procedures and align implementation and communication of those activities with all stakeholders.
• Secure project budget estimates and time schedules for investment approval whilst maintaining cost management.
• Identify, lead and secure the procurement strategy for the project including collaboration strategies within the Design & Construction industry, tendering & selection process, dispute avoidance & resolution and permits/contracts.
• Lead stakeholders to ensure project construction is executed correctly to satisfy the project requirements of site safety and compliance, quality, time and budget.
• Conduct pre- and on-site construction project management throughout the lifecycle of projects.
• Ensure due diligence and risk management is assessed and mitigated throughout.
• Actively cooperate and collaborate with key stakeholders including Retail Expansion (key speaking partner), Real Estate Development, Business Risk & Compliance, People & Culture, Procurement, Global teams and more to deliver business goals.



As Construction Project Manager you are:
• Passionate about adding value to a Global company and contributing to the growth of IKEA now and into the future by leading through a customer centric mindset.
• A seasoned leader with proven experience in successfully delivering and managing construction projects from end to end. Experience in mid to large scale retail and industrial construction and development will be highly regarded.
• Equipped with sound knowledge in all aspects of the lifecycle of construction projects including securing due diligence, cost control, budget, timeline management, procurement and more. Furthermore, you excel in planning, implementing and executing property solutions aligned with business needs.
• Able to demonstrate proven results in negotiating, influencing and steering recommendations in projects to deliver optimal results.
• Someone who has robust communication skills and the ability to build relationships and collaborate well with stakeholders including cross-functional teams to secure business needs.
• Able to seamlessly lead a strong change management process and ensure all relevant stakeholders are informed and aligned throughout the project lifecycle.
