• Knowledge of how to set direction, create and manage long-term plans, set budgets and goals, and follow up on KPIs
• Knowledge of how to plan, attract, grow, deploy, reward and support co-workers & leaders and their careers
• Knowledge of identifying, assessing, selecting and hiring suitable candidates
• Knowledge of introducing a co-worker to IKEA, the team and work activities in an effective and performance-enhancing way
• Knowledge of how to analyse data from digital sources to gain insights of customers for business purposes and decision making
• Knowledge of different leadership styles (such as interdependent, indirect, situational etc.) and needs as well as appropriate use for different situations

Your responsibilities

• Business partner to senior leaders in the Service Office, responsible for execution of all People activities for co-workers in the SO
• Ensure the People strategy, global principles/guidelines and relevant business plans relate and come together in a local People action plan that is operationally implemented and lived up to
• Influence senior managers in the SO to continuously develop local leadership capabilities and business competence within their function according to business needs
• Responsible for working with Recruitment & Sourcing function in identifying and driving the opportunities to develop the relevant offer of IKEA as a local employer
• Responsible for ensuring a qualitative and up-to-date succession plan by influencing managers in taking the lead with special focus on talents and high-performing potentials, making use of global tools and processes for succession planning
• Together with Business Navigation deliver a local staff cost budget which secures a diverse, appropriate staff structure and meets the defined business and productivity goals in the unit
• Responsible for implementing a co-worker relations plan that effectively manages all local interactions with co-workers and ensures that all areas in the unit work with the labour relations principles and uphold local policies, procedures and laws – working in collaboration with Co-worker Relations Manager
• Manager for Local HR BPs from other local entities in the country – providing support and guidance to ensure a consistent co-worker experience for all co-workers in the country e.g. Centres, IMS, ICAs


Responsible for efficient, effective and consistent execution of all People activities in the Service Office by acting as a business partner to senior leaders in the service office. Where relevant, manager for Local HR BPs for all other local entities in the country to support
them in executing a consistent and high quality co-worker experience for all co-workers in the country.

Our head office is on the 5th floor of the Tokyo-Bay store. The style of working is hybrid; we are welcomed to work in the office 2-3 times a week and work from home the remainder. 【Employment Status】
- Full-time regular employee- 40 hours per week contract
- Probation period: 6 months
- Start date is the first day of every month (consult with us about your start date)
- Retirement age: 65 years old
