Who you are?


A Subdomain Manager is a seasoned professional with a proven track record in people leadership, relevant functional area/platform/technology, building high-performing teams, and effective stakeholder management. This role requires a strategic thinker, an excellent communicator, and a collaborative leader who can drive the success of the subdomain by maximizing the potential of their team and fostering strong relationships with stakeholders.


Key Job responsibilities

• Demonstrate strong People Leadership capabilities, building high performing, cohesive and collaborative teams. Acts as a positive force to bring out the best in people. Must lead by example in line with IKEA values and leadership compass.
• Is a strategic thinker with strong foundations & proficiency in content in either or both functional or technology area, proven delivery capabilities in leading teams and delivering large transformation programs in the relevant technology/platform.
• Has demonstrated experience in working with senior stakeholders to build and nurture relationships, manage expectations, and maintain high stakeholder satisfaction.
• Proven Leadership capabilities also including resourcefulness, excellent communication, problem solving, critical thinking, strong sense of accountability/ownership, a “Can-do” mindset, proactive & holistic thinking skills which would enable finding positive, constructive solutions and steering through complex or demanding scenarios with agility.
• Exhibits strong drive, judgement, rigor and initiative to enable teams to deliver effectively and holistically.

• Applies critical thinking and problem-solving skills to understand problem statements and find effective, efficient and simple solutions with speed and agility.
• Understands the technology/platform and business processes, develops and implements Delivery Processes and capabilities, is hands on and leads teams to successful deliveries.
• Able to deliver full scope of solutions, on schedule, within the budget with zero defects.

We prefer

• 15+ years of experience in driving transformations in the respective functional/technology area
• Building strong relationships with stakeholders
• Experience in building and executing to processes for various delivery methodologies and delivering relevant and timely outcomes
• Track record of delivering successful projects, navigating complex situations, influencing senior stakeholders with the relevant information, insights.
• Strong communication skills, verbal, written and presentation.
• Demonstrable critical thinking and problem solving skills.
• Good knowledge of relevant technology/platform architecture/engineering across multiple modules and technology domains
• Strong understanding of processes, application of the same and trends in relevant technology/platforms
• Has managed multiple suppliers and contracts

NOTE: Interested applicants must be willing to relocate to Sweden for a duration of 1 year and continues in base location (Bangalore) after an year.

Stakeholder Management:

• Identifying key stakeholders and their needs, interests, and expectations.
• Cultivating strong relationships with stakeholders, including business stakeholders, internal teams, and external partners.
• Effective communication skills which drive clarity and purpose, while being compassionate. This includes but not limited to active listening, messaging and seeking and receiving response.
• Communicating effectively with stakeholders, ensuring they are informed of project progress, risks, and opportunities in a timely manner.
• Managing stakeholder expectations and addressing concerns proactively.
• Understanding and Leveraging stakeholder feedback to drive improvements and maintain a high level of satisfaction.

Strategic Thinking:
• Developing a clear vision and strategy for the subdomain aligned with the overall organizational objectives.
• Analyzing market trends and industry best practices to identify opportunities and best practices and evaluate adopt/adapt the same with the right agility.
• Translating strategic goals into actionable plans and initiatives for the team.
• Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of strategies and adjusting as needed to achieve desired outcomes.


Delivery Expertise:

• Demonstrates expertise in various delivery models and methodologies prevalent in the industry, market trends and industry best practices on delivery models. Adapt/adopt based on the INGKA and domain context to deliver frequent and incremental business value.
• Develops and standardize delivery models & methodology in the context of the domain, technology and INGKA renew and improve to keep it relevant.
• Demonstrating an ability to work with agile methodologies in the context of the relevant technologies/platforms.
• Understands potential risks to timely, quality and within budget delivery, understands and is able to challenge conceptual designs, dependencies across modules, business activities during cutover, Master data/data, etc. to name a few fundamentals needed for delivery.
• Staying abreast of the latest developments and trends in relevant technologies and in the functional area to ensure the subdomain remains innovative and competitive while delivering business value.
• Collaborating with technical experts to make informed decisions on system configurations and enhancements.
• Demonstrates an understanding and/or awareness of Retail areas, specifically on Finance, Procurement, Tax, Risk & Compliance.
• Assessing and mitigating risks related to the respective technology and functional implementations and upgrades.

Problem-Solving and Decision-Making:

• Analyzing complex issues and identifying creative and effective solutions, leveraging and weighing existing solutions, a holistic perspective of the problem statements and solutions and where appropriate build/reuse existing solutions & capabilities
• Making well-informed decisions based on data, insights, and stakeholder input.
• Handling crises and high-pressure situations with composure and sound judgment.
• Encouraging a culture of problem-solving and innovation within the team.
• Supplier Management:
• Builds effective partnerships and relations with suppliers.
• Works with various suppliers to get effective outcomes and generate value for the organization.
• Reviews contracts, and steers contracts to derive maximum value and outcomes for the cost of the contract.
